Preschoolers love to mimic their parents, so why not while driving? Invite your child to try to copy everything you do, from holding the steering wheel to opening the glove compartment. If you have children of multiple ages in the car, have the littles try to spot just one thing, while older kids have to find three or even five. Start with more obvious colors like red and white before working up to less common ones like purple. Name a color and challenge your little ones to spot objects that you pass (signs, buildings, other cars, people's clothes, and so on) in that hue. If your little one can't count out loud yet, show him how to keep track using his fingers 7. Each person tries to count as many as they can before time runs out. Another person calls out a subject: Cows, sheep, red cars, white trucks.
